Jeremy and I completed our last NFP class yesterday! So in celebration of completing all of our requirements in order to get married in the Catholic Church, we treated ourselves to dinner at Ruth’s Chris right next door to our apartment!
Yesterday, Jeremy and I had another cake tasting at 3 Sisters Chocolate for our wedding cake. We tasted Kahlua Cake w/ Cookies & Cream Filling and we also tasted Lemon Cake w/ Raspberry Filling. After indulging ourselves with delicious flavors of cake, we made our decision on flavors:
Wedding Cake
1st Tier – Kahlua Cake w/ Cookies N Cream Filling
2nd Tier – Red Velvet Cake w/ White Chocolate Cream Cheese Filling
3rd Tier – Pineapple Cake w/ White Chocolate Cream Cheese Filling
Grooms Cake (to be at the rehearsal dinner)
Lemon Cake w/ Raspberry Filling
We have decided against saving the top tier of the wedding cake and instead will have a miniature cake made with our favorite flavors on our one year anniversary. We have posted some pictures below of our tasting yesterday, so take a look!
After Jeremy and I had our engagement photos taken this year, I had mentioned how beautiful I thought this one photo of us was and how great it would be to have it blown up. Well, here it is! Jeremy had it blown up and it now hangs on the wall behind our dining room table. I love it! (It’s a little off center, so I’ll have to adjust it….but you get the picture!) 
I was looking through my hotel room contracts that I have for the Crowne Plaza and the Hampton Inn and wanted to put out a reminder that they both have “cutoff dates” on when to book the room before they will be released back to general inventory. After that date, the discounted price may or may not be available.

Jeremy and I have finally booked our honeymoon! Although we aren’t doing the typical cruise/Caribbean/resort vacation, we are spending time somewhere that really means a lot to us. Where is that you might ask? Traverse City & Petoskey, Michigan!
Now let me explain….When Jeremy and I were dating, there was a point that I was still going to school at FSU in Tallahassee, FL and he was working full time in Petoskey, Michigan. Whenever I could find a weekend that I didn’t have any tests and he wasn’t crazy busy at work, I would fly to Traverse City or Grand Rapids and we would spend the weekend exploring new (well, new to me) towns in Northern Michigan and taking in the area! We would take a drive on the Old Mission Peninsula in Traverse City and go from winery to winery, eat lots of yummy food, and walk all day around town.
Here’s a list of some of the places we plan on visiting while in Traverse City and Petoskey.
- Eat a Chandler’s, Papa Lou’s, City Park Grill, Sage
- Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes
- Go to all the wineries on Old Mission Peninsula
- Cherry Republic
- Odawa Casino (this is where Jeremy used to work, so he never got to play there, but now we can!)

- Grand Traverse Distillery
While Jeremy and I were in Michigan this past May, we had the opportunity to take a look at the reception hall for the July 24th reception. It’s being held in the Assumption Catholic Church gym which is located in Belmont, Michigan at 6:30PM. As a side note – Mass is held at 5:30PM in the sanctuary.
Jeremy and I couldn’t believe how big and nice the hall is! It looks brand new! There is a stage at the front of the hall where we will have the DJ and plenty of space for dinner and dancing. One thing Mr. Czubko mentioned, was how nice this space will be for the Grand March!! (I can’t wait!!) We posted some pictures below, so take a look!
Jeremy and I just came back from Michigan last weekend because Mrs. Czubko had planned a beautiful Bridal Shower at Thousand Oaks Country Club in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We all had a great time opening gifts, eating delicious food, talking, and trying to figure out where the “mystery” box of Polish recipes came from! It was so great to see everyone and catch up with everything that has been going on. I still can’t believe how big Tommy is and how much Tyler has grown! I also received A LOT of great recipes from everyone, and Jeremy and I are looking forward to making some great dishes!
We also arrived to the Bridal Shower in complete style! Grandpa and Grandma Czubko drove us to Thousand Oaks in the newly remodeled Model A! If you’ve been reading a little bit of my previous posts, you’ll remember that Mr. Czubko was remodeled Grandpa Czubko’s Model A. I couldn’t believe just how beautiful the car turned out! I was so afraid to get in it or touch it by fear that i might scratch it. It is such a gorgeous car!!!
Jeremy and I really had a wonderful “mini-vacation” to Michigan. It was great to see everyone, and if we didn’t see you that weekend, then we look forward to seeing you at the wedding!

For those of you that don’t know, Mr. Czubko has been spending a lot of time restoring Grandpa Czubko’s Model A. The last time I had seen it was in Grandpa & Grandma Czubko’s garage almost 2 years ago, so I am anxious and excited to see what it looks like now! Mr. Czubko sent us a dvd of the first time they cranked up the Model A and boy was that neat!
For the Michigan Reception, Grandpa Czubko is going to drive Jeremy and I to the reception in the Model A (we are going to be in the rumble seat). Mr. Czubko sent us some pictures a few months back that he found of a couple in the rumble seat of a Model A being driven to their reception, so I wanted to share just what we have to look forward to! We will be in Michigan in May for a bridal shower, so we will have to do a test run to see if we can both fit in the rumble seat
Lots of exciting things are coming our way as the wedding is only 3 months away! We are thrilled to have such a wonderful supportive family
